HF EMPORIUM- THE FRONTROOM CAMBRIDGE

Tonight the Handsome Frank Emporium returns for three weeks at The Frontroom in Cambridge. 

After the success of Pick Me Up my agents will be hosting a pop up shop where a plethora of artwork from the HF illustrators will be available to purchase. The space will also provide portfolio reviews, discussions and of course those wonderfully dodgy records.

Join the private view tonight from 6:30pm where the artwork will be accompanied by the awesome burgers from Steak & Honour!

PICK ME UP- HANDSOME FRANK EMPORIUM

This evening brings the private view of the infamous Pick Me Up graphic art fair at Somerset House. It is with great pleasure that I will get to join the rest of the Handsome Frank family as the agency makes  its debut appearance by presenting the Handsome Frank Emporium. 

Judging from some of the sneak peeks of the installation process the guys have pulled out all the stops and will offer a variety of visual treats for those attending.

There will be a number of workshops available throughout the 10 day duration of the fair from an introduction to indian inks with Tim McDonagh to papercraft with Helen Musselwhite. To take a look at what is happening and to purchase tickets for the events click on the link below.

BUILDING

A big announcement has been released from my UK agents Handsome Frank revealing that they have reached an agreement with Tokyo based illustration agency Building to promote each others artists.

You can now view my profile and the profiles of the rest of the HF family on the Building website (see links below) where hopefully the additional exposure will help gain us future commissions from new clientele. 

Congratulations to both parties, I for one look forward to seeing what fruits this partnership will bear.

A Perfect Cup of Tea

Above is my contribution to the Handsome Frank 'Tweet A Brief' exhibition, an illustration of what I feel is the perfect cup of tea consisting of: a mug, tea (of choice) brewed in a teapot and if the occasion calls for it a drop of milk. 


I tend to go through many a cup of the wonderful stuff throughout the day (I'm sure that I am not alone there) so when I saw the tweet I couldn't resist putting my name forward to illustrate it.


I hope those of you who attended the private view enjoyed and that the piece depicts at least a few people's idea of their favourite cuppa.

The exhibition is now open to the public until the 22nd July 2012 at The Church Of London's new gallery space: 71A Leonard Street, London, EC2A 4QS.

'Tweet A Brief' Private View

The countdown is currently on for the Handsome Frank group show titled, 'Tweet A Brief' which opens this coming Friday (13th July).


All of us in the Handsome Frank family hope to see you at the private view is this Thursday (12th July) which is invite only but will be open to the public the very next day until the 22nd July.


You will be able to see what tweets that have chosen to illustrate and how everyone including myself have approached them. A good number of Frank's will be in attendance so please feel free to come and say hi.

EXHIBITION AT TBWA LONDON

After kindly being able to spend a month at the London office of CHI & Partners I can now reveal that my work will now move to the London office of advertising agency TBWA. 


The selected pieces from my portfolio will occupy the walls of the office for the month of May.

SECRET 7'S

Earlier this week brought the private view of Secret 7, a project which aims to rekindle some of the excitement for sleeve art in the digital era by exploring how a track would be interpreted by an array of brilliant artists.

The Idea Generation gallery hosted around 700 unique seven-inch sleeves inspired by tracks from The Cure, Florence + The Machine, Bombay Bicycle Club, CSS, DJ Shadow, Noah & The Whale and Ben Howard.

An aspect about the show that I really liked is the element of mystery, as each sleeve will lack the name of the creative until it is purchased. Some of my fellow image makers at Handsome Frank created covers for the exhibition, can you spot any of them?

On the 21st April (also known as Record Store Day) through to close on Sunday the exhibition is yours to own. Each of the one-of-a-kind heavyweight 7'' records will be available to take home with you for a minimum donation to Teenage Cancer Trust of £40.

Every penny profited from the sale of these exclusive vinyl records is going to the charity.

I am delighted to announce that next Monday I will be installing a selection of my artwork at the London office of CHI & Partners. 


The exhibition will give the opportunity for pieces from my solo show 'Origin' to be shown to a different and hopefully accepting audience.

As I have mentioned in my previous post my wonderful agent Handsome Frank has chosen my illustration of their logo as the cover for their Christmas cards, with this being the case I thought that I would share the illustration with you.

I've really enjoyed creating these recent type illustrations and can assure you that I'll be experimenting further with work in this area.
