NEW WORK

.....................................................................................................................................

It has been quite a while since I have posted new work, in an attempt to make sure that everyone is still aware that I am creating illustrations I thought that I would include the above piece.

The photograph is poor and is meant to capture a recent typographic piece given as a gift to someone special in my life.

I hope you enjoy what you are able to see and I'll try to get more work up soon!

ORIGIN 02 -LION

The weekend that has just passed us marked the two month countdown until my first solo exhibition, 'Origin.' Therefore what better way to tempt you all into attending the private view than a new promotional video with a brand new original that will be a part of the show.

Have a look at one of my latest experiments and feel welcome to attend the evening. If you are unable to make the evening then not to worry the exhibition will be running for the month of October at the Exposure gallery, London.

Oh, and there will be a few surprises in store.

MARC JACOBS

I know I've been a bit quite folks on making posts, as previously mentioned this is due to the new pieces for my upcoming solo show that I am dying to share with you. But all in good time.

As for now, how about an editorial I did for the German magazine ZEIT? There are more detailed shots on my website and flickr.

Hope you enjoy.

LIVE DRAWING AT GINGER MOO GALLERY

On Monday I was drawing live at the Ginger Moo Gallery as part of the Crawley Wordfest 2011. While at the gallery I began working on a new series of typographic illustrations in order to reflect the concept of the festival.

Above are some photographs taken by Jo Harrison, one of the event organisers. I would like to thank Jo and Rachel for having me at the gallery and all those who took an interest in what I was doing.

CRAWLEY WORDFEST 2011

I have been asked by Jo Harrison, one of the organisers of the Crawley WordFest to participate in the week long event by drawing live in the Ginger Moo Gallery. I will join a long list of creatives who will be live contributing in various ways all throughout the week long event.

I will be attempting to complete one of a new series of typographic illustrations on Monday 4th April 2011, if you are in the area or feel like a journey to see how I work then come say hello.

This looks to be a great event where the variety of visual treats won't disappoint no matter what day you are able to make. For more information please follow the link below.

ROYAL SOCIETY OF PORTRAIT PAINTERS

I was delighted to hear that last week my portrait 'Brother' has been selected for the Royal Society of Portrait Painters Exhibition at the Mall Galleries. Thankfully the guidelines of eligibility allowed work created by pencil to be considered within this show. I am looking forward to the private view to see what made it into the exhibition, as I remember seeing some beautiful work on the designated hand-in days.

This will be the second time this portrait has been exhibited in London (it was previously exhibited at the Design Museum).

COMPUTER ARTS FEATURE

The kind people at Computer Arts requested some images and answers to a few questions about my work due to my use of pencils. I was happy to see that this issue has now just been made available to purchase by the public.

In addition to my alphabet and a couple of paragraphs the accompanying disc includes 12 images of mine for your viewing pleasure. The issue is filled with a variety of features that I am sure will help creatives start the New Year with confidence.
