NEW WORK– FISH, CHIPS & ICE CREAM

A new illustration to mark the wonderful weather we are currently having in the UK.

Fish, Chips & Ice Cream is a simple piece depicting a take on a lunch that many of us may enjoy during a trip to the beach, park and general outdoors this weekend.

TMP– WISHES FOR MEES CARDS

As you may have seen recently the illustrators within The Mighty Pencil got together and contributed a design towards a pack of 24 greeting cards that can be used for any occasion. The complete selection can be seen above along with my individual design of a balloon dog which brought a smile to my face and hopefully yours too.

The reason that we put the greeting cards pack together was to try and help fellow penciller Jan Wennekes's son Mees who has unfortunately been diagnosed with cancer. Due to the severity of the case Mees can only receive the treatment he requires through specialists in Florida, USA so in order to help with the cost of making this happen we are selling these packs of cards for £20 each with the option to donate more from a drop down menu via the link below.

I'm happy to say that the target has been hit for Mees, but that doesn't mean that we are stopping! Any other money raised from purchasing a set of these cards will go towards supporting other families in similar situations and children's cancer charities.

It's a great cause with great artwork that can be shared with a loved one for less than £1 a card. Click on the link below to make an awesome choice today.

TINY PENCIL- INTERVIEW

A little while back I was approached by duo Katriona Chapman and Amber Hsu about contributing to a project they had created called the Tiny Pencil, an anthology that celebrates work of graphite users.

With an impressive list of contributors and everything coming together nicely for issue 1 which has the title and theme of 'Forest' the pair asked me a few questions that can be seen here.

The 50+ page issue can be pre-ordered via the Tiny Pencil store with the first 25 who place a pre-order receiving a mini print of Rachel M. Bray's 'Inevitability'.

If you also pre-order before 25/04/13 then you will automatically be entered into a mystery fan pack prize draw. There are 5 up for grabs which include a mix of up to ten badges, postcards, mini-prints, comics and specialty goods from contributing issue 1 artists.

That isn't all either, at midnight on 21/04/13 one lucky person will win an original piece that has been beautifully drawn by Vanessa Foley.

For further details visit the Tiny Pencil website.

BOOK– 1000 PORTRAIT ILLUSTRATIONS

A few examples of my portrait work have been included in the recently released book '1000 Portrait Illustrations' from Quarry.

The book contains an eclectic mix of portrait work produced by creatives working today and is arranged into categories that best classifies their approach to the work. I was very pleased to see the level of talent in this edition from established names to some I have only just discovered. If you are interested in portraiture then this book is well worth looking at.

Thank you to the editor Julia for thinking of me and including my work in the publication.

THE FIFTY NEW LOGOS PROJECT

This is my contribution to 'The Fifty New Logos Project' which asked designers to re-interpret the iconic Rolling Stones logo to celebrate their 50th Anniversary.

In order for the piece to make the connection I felt it had to be in colour, something that if you are familiar with my work I don't tend to incorporate. I'll be continuing to try and make colour my friend in the new year so consider this a taster.

ART V CANCER- EXHIBITION

.....................................................................................................................................

I have always wanted to use my artwork to help others so when I heard about the Art V Cancer exhibition I couldn't think of a better excuse to create a new piece.

I received an email yesterday informing me that my original piece will be included in the show in addition to the small limited edition number of prints that will be sold in order to raise money.

This will be the first Art V Cancer exhibition that will open on November 2nd at 2022NQ in Manchester and will include over 35 artists both established and emerging to raise money for the cause.

The show looks like it's going to be a great night packed with fantastic work. For updated news on the exhibition you can use one of the following links.
